Dear Pack 196 Families,
What a night! Thank you to everyone who made yesterday’s Blue & Gold Banquet such a success. While the food was great and the company was better, the highlight was undoubtedly watching our 16 Arrow of Light Scouts cross over.
As we send them off to their Troops, we wanted to share a few specific memories of the Scouts leaving our ranks. We are going to miss:
Noah A: For his legendary catch of "rare kelp" during Family Fishing Day.
Max C: For his kindness and the genuine joy he always found in just being with his peers.
Liam G: For his unfailing politeness and being a steady, reliable Scout we could always count on.
Brett H: For his fun-loving spirit and being such a great host to the boys during our summer planning meeting.
Elaina M: For bringing pure happiness to every event, especially that winning smile with her Pinewood trophy.
Sarvesh M & Ilhaan E: For joining us this year -- we are so proud to have been part of your journey.
Ben R & Lucas V: For mastering the Pinewood track logistics (we hope to borrow you back from the Troop next year!).
Owen S: For the absolute most epic costume at the Halloween party.
Sebastian S: For ruling as the undisputed "King of the Fort" at Winter Camp.
Damien S: For the sheer grit of hauling a truck tire on his back during Park Cleanup.
Oliver S: For getting the energy high and the "6-7" chant loud during the Halloween parade.
Tyler W: For the infectious hysterical laughter, even when his rockets exploded and caught fire!
Sophie W: For summer camp happiness so bright it became the face of our webpage.
Grayson W: For having one of the few strong personalities that can actually compete with his old man.
If you have any photos or videos, reply to this message and send them our way!
The Future of Pack 196 (We Need You)
When those 16 Scouts crossed the bridge, their parents crossed with them. That is a massive amount of institutional knowledge, volunteer hours, and leadership leaving our Pack.
To put it bluntly: We have a vacuum to fill.
As Cubmaster Jake E. mentioned at the banquet: We have an opening at Treasurer. We are losing key parents who made things happen. We cannot run a program this size (AND GROWING!) without new parents stepping up to take their place. If we want the younger Scouts to have the same experiences the older ones just graduated with, we need to build the next generation of leadership now.
Committee Meeting: THIS TUESDAY, March 3rd

We are asking you to join us this Tuesday night. We aren't asking for a lifetime commitment, but I will reiterate: our Pack is only as strong as the volunteers who guide it.
Yours in Scouting,
Jake M
