🏃Parents have struggled to get kids active, collaborative, and outdoors post-COVID. Cub Scouts does it all!
🎉There's an event (or 2... or 3!) every month
🧭Establishes a moral compass rooted in citizenship, duty to God, and duty to country
🙏Scouts make friends that often last a lifetime
🧓Healthy adult leadership = many hands make light work
📈It's no secret our Scouts have fun; Pack 196 has grown 200%+ in 2 years - and the adults are also having a blast!
🏆Great experiences for parents/ guardians to share with their Scouts (see the graphic above for a reminder!)
The 4 topics we're often asked:
📍LOCATION
We're located at Sporting Hill Elementary in Hampden Township. While many of our Scouts attend our charter school, they span the area: Boiling Springs, Camp Hill, Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, New Cumberland, Silver Spring Twp., etc. All interested Scouts are welcome.
💵FINANCES
Our Pack is quite active, and with that comes expenses. The dues are $200, due in October of this year, covering:
The Scout's $80 in Nationals dues for 2025
Local dues of $120, paying for a model rocket, awards earned, Pinewood Derby Car, a catered banquet, a two-night winter campout, meeting supplies, picnics, etc. We keep a low overhead and balance at EOY.
We offer a popcorn fundraiser to help Scouts cover their dues. Last year, Scouts who participated in 4 total hours of storefront sales ended up paying less than $15 in dues for the year.
If you'd love to join but the dues are outside of your family's budget, contact us and we will make it work. We'll never turn away a Scout for that reason.
⚜️BEYOND BOY SCOUTS
Scouts BSA welcomes all eligible youth, regardless of race, ethnic background, gender, or orientation, who are willing to accept Scouting's values and meet any other membership requirements.
Our Pack requires a parent or guardian at all events, including meetings and campouts. There is no drop-off option.
