Hello Pack 196 Families, and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! 

First and foremost, a massive Happy Mother's Day to all our incredible Pack 196 Moms!  Thank you for being the real MVPs -- finding lost neckerchiefs, cheering on Pinewood Derby cars, and keeping our Scouts fueled up and ready for adventure. We hope you get to kick back, relax, and enjoy your special day!

 Final Pack Meeting - Tuesday, May 12

When/Where: 6:30 PM at Sporting Hill

Why you should be there: We are celebrating our Scouts' hard work with Rank Advancements... AND there will be Hawaiian Shaved Ice!  You definitely don't want to miss this one.

 Kids' Fishing Day - Sunday, May 17

We are still waiting on the Dauphin County Anglers to lock in our exact time slot, but keep the day open!

 Potluck Lunch: we added a sign-up sheet so we can do a potluck lunch while we fish! Bring on the grub—whether it's a kid-favorite classic or something healthy to keep us "physically strong," we'd love your contribution.

 Summer of Scouting Lineup & Parent Challenge!

We scale it back during the summer, but the fun doesn't stop. Our current summer lineup includes Summer Camp, a Pool Party, the Senators Game & Campout, and a Family Picnic!

The Challenge: we're challenging YOU to grab a parent friend and plan a fun, low-stakes summer event for the kids! Here are a few crazy/fun ideas to get your gears turning:

• Park play day (easy to just show up to!)

• Conny Creek Float 

• Ice cream social 

• Pokemon Safari (a real hike, but spotting stuffed animal versions of Pokemon)

• Bike Rodeo @ Sporting Hill (set up obstacles, maybe invite Hampden PD!) 

• Lego Derby (build a Pinewood car on a Lego chassis... and try to crash and explode it!) 

• Adult Pinewood Derby (maybe somewhere like Al’s of Hampden? )
