Dear Pack 196 Families,
WOW. What a day!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone for a flawless Pinewood Derby. So many smiling faces from start to checkered finish!
This event doesn't happen by magic; it happens because of volunteers. A special shoutout to the crew that made it run smoothly:
The Race Crew: Steve Williams & Kevin McCann for manning the computer, Jake E. for being our MC and the backbone of the event, Luke Ufnar for being its heart, and our AoLs Ben and Lucas for running the cars with Mike VanDeMark!
The Team Leads: Mike Kostelac (setup), Luke Ufnar (check-in), Bill Hirn + Doug & Nicole Philipkosky (cafe), James Hunter (crowd control), Devin Miller (downtime activities), and Dave Armstrong (cleanup).
To every single one of you who stepped up to fill a role: THANK YOU. This was an exemplary display of "many hands make light work!"

NEXT UP: The Blue & Gold Banquet
What is Blue & Gold?
For our new families, this is the biggest celebration of the Scouting year! It’s a birthday bash for Cub Scouting where we gather for dinner to celebrate the Scouts' achievements and say farewell to our oldest Scouts (Arrow of Light) as they bridge over to their BSA Troop. I will dearly miss this core to our Pack (and their parents, who've built it into the engine we're running today).
You are going to hear about this plenty over the next 4 weeks, but registration is officially OPEN!
Date: Saturday, Feb. 28
Time: 5:00 PM
Location: West Shore Elks Lodge
Menu: Chicken Tenders, Pizza, Baked Mac & Cheese, Salad, Bread, and the Scout-beloved COD BITES
RSVP Deadline: Valentine's Day (Feb 14)
Show some love for your Scout and get signed up by the 14th!
