• • TIPS:

  • DAY BEFORE PARADE:

    • 🍬 Bring your own candy. We can't afford to get enough for every Scout. Those of us w/ experience tend to keep the stuff from Easter, Christmas, or other events. IMPORTANT NEW RULE: Candy CANNOT be thrown! It must be physically handed to the crowd along the route. So silly, but we have to follow the borough's rules!

    • 🥪 Bring a sandwich/dinner. Not sure how this will be for staging since it's our first year, but we'd recommend the same for Mech. We're staging at 5:30 PM, so there will be some waiting around before we get moving.

    • 🚽 Use the bathroom before you depart. It's packed and may cost you valuable time.

  • RIGHT BEFORE LEAVING / PARKING & MEETING UP:

    • 🚗 Parking: You'll need to park nearby. There is a parking lot behind Chop Shish on 22nd St that works great. We will plan to meet up around there!

    • 🚩 Finding the Pack: Look for our Pack 196 banner! We will be meeting at the American flag, which is opposite the church behind the synod office (nearer to Chef de Crepe).

    • ⏰ Timing: Staging begins at 5:30 PM.

  • COSTUME CONTEST (Pre-Registration Required!):

🎭 If you are participating and want to be judged for the Costume Contest, you MUST pre-register online by Monday, October 19th. You will be assigned a number to pick up at the check-in table at the staging area. Judges will view costumes as we walk the route! The categories are:
🦸‍♂️ Best Theme/Character — Best execution of a recognizable character or Halloween theme.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Best Group/Family — Best coordinated group costume.
🐶 Best Pet — Best pet costume.
😂 Funniest — Most humorous costume or presentation.
🎨 Most Creative — Most original, inventive, or unexpected costume.
🏆 Best in Show — The costume that has the biggest overall impact.

• • POST-PARADE / DISBANDING:

    • 🏁 The parade will end at the Borough Building (2145 Walnut St) around 6:45 PM.

    • 🎉 Costume contest winners will be announced outside the building right as the parade finishes. The borough is also hosting family-friendly activities in the community room from 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM.

    • 👋 You are more than welcome to stick around for the activities, or you are completely free to disband and head home for the night once we finish the route!
